January
22-28, 2012
In review,
you'll remember I noted that with a Scorpio Moon in
control, and momentum working against Saturn and
Jupiter, we would see endings and lots of friction. So
what happened? Jon Huntsman pulled out of the GOP
presidential race on Monday, and by Thursday, so did
Rick Perry. As for friction, Newt Gingrich's second wife
decided to go on camera with ABC for a tell-all
interview regarding a relationship that ended almost a
decade ago--two days before the S. Carolina primary.
Tensions and relationships were also a theme in
California where Monday a ten-year-old fatally stabbed
his twelve-year-old friend and a California mother
killed her two children and their father after smoking
meth and filming the experience. The strong momentum for
moisture turned into a survival hazard for the Pacific
Northwest as two fronts caused tens of thousands to lose
power, and the Alberta Clippers raced across the
Northern Plains and are currently turning the East Coast
white.
This week...here comes Chinese New Year--the Year
of the Dragon. Water Dragon to be specific. It's
reported that in China the birthrate is up 5 % this year
as couples hope especially for dragon sons because it is
predicted that they have the best odds of being
successful, wealthy, and powerful. Personality-wise,
dragons are said to be charismatic, colorful, they like
to be the center of attention, but must watch for
growing arrogant. A water dragon is said to be
especially fearsome in that with water the
fire-breathing dragon clashes with itself and produces a
lot of steam. That's fine passion-wise and adds to the
charisma appeal in some instances. The critical issue is
where to direct that passion? Here, individual character
comes into play and requires the intelligent but loving
instruction of the young mind.
What kind of year will it be for the world at
large? I mentioned in my first report of the year that
the last two water dragon years were 1892 and 1952. The
word is that it will be a good year for making money;
however, overspending can be an issue of concern. It
should be a good year for beginnings; therefore,
entrepreneurship and weddings are getting a nod. Do
watch for individual and national tempers as they can be
more explosive than usual and peace-treaty breaks
between countries should certainly come as no surprise.
That said, water dragons are more receptive to healing
and making peace.
Otherwise, it's New Moon time, which is a good
atmosphere for finalizing projects, especially with Moon
currently residing in Aquarius, so ideas and
thinking-outside-the-box is easier than usual. Mars will
turn retrograde this week, for three months. That will
mean we'll be challenged if we're trying to get new
projects going. The good news is that because Mars will
spend a good deal of the year in Virgo, which is
respected for its focus on minutiae, we could catch
errors that--if left unexamined--could be costly if not
catastrophic. So if repairs are on your To Do list--by
all means, get to them. Otherwise right brain-creative
thinking gets a boost of energy. Moon will finish in
Capricorn and pass through Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries.
That's earth, air, water, and fire, so by mid-week the
precipitation chances also rise again, and by the end of
the week when Aries Moon and Uranus (also in Aries)
connect, expect some surprise announcements and actions.
With these two short-fused planets, not all of that will
be good news.
Sunday, January 22nd...and things don't bode well
for those waiting for some luck or benevolence after
Aquarius Sun's sextile with Uranus (in Aries) on
Saturday night, the evening of the South Carolina
primary. Who was struck down by some unexpected jolt out
of left field--or the voting public's fickleness? (We
now know it was Romney losing badly to Gingrich.) Anyway
the 1:35 a.m. EST, Aquarius Sun square with Jupiter (in
Taurus) would suggest Romney suffers a serious
disappointment due to some clever thinking/talking on
Gingrich's part. It's 7:02 before the next aspect, the
Capricorn Moon conjunction with Mercury (also in
Capricorn). This is the bottom line focus as both
winners and especially losers take a hard look at what
must be done. The 9:42, Moon trine with Mars (in Virgo)
could be where the next power play and approach to the
Florida primary begins. That's the tone for the
afternoon until the 8:38 p.m. EST, Moon square with
Saturn (in Libra), which is a strong rejection (or lack
of respect) to law and borders, or lessons learned. Moon
follows Sun into Aquarius at 9:53. That double air
energy doesn't only means we're due the strong gusts
pushing weather fronts at record speeds, but ideas and
accusations will be fast and furious, as well. This is
great for left-brain thinking, but not optimum for
details, finessing relationships, and things like that.
The theme word for Aquarians is "reform." The question
is what and to what end, as well as reform by whom? As
we can see by President Obama's healthcare and energy
momentum, fewer people than ever can afford individual
insurance policies, and the talk is for $4 gas prices by
summer. That's not my idea of good reform. As for our
health and travel-work momentum, take care to protect
the lower half of your legs. Didn't we just see Brad
Pitt sporting a cane after a fall that injured his ACLU?
Monday, the 23rd and New Moon time (as well as
Chinese New Year) starts early with the 12:27, Aquarius
Moon sextile with Uranus (in Aries). This is a repeat of
the Suns formation on Saturday night. Things are moving
fast and a good number of changes are in the works.
Anyone caught moving too slowly, let alone asleep, will
lose ground. In less than a half hour, Moon then squares
with Jupiter (in Taurus). Jupiter isn't going to
cooperate with whatever Moon and Sun have working in
tandem. At 2:39, Moon then conjuncts with Sun--its New
Moon time and that's lots of air energy, so ideas are
flowing fast again, so is rhetoric. Watch also for where
weather fronts are bearing down. This could create
travel hazards that include wind shear, high seas, etc.
At 6:15, Mercury (in Capricorn) trines with Mars (in
Virgo) and this is double earth energy trying for a
power play and or to stabilize whatever already exists.
(Like keeping a campaign from bleeding to death.) At
7:54 we end with Mars turning retrograde until
mid-April. As I said, this will slow us down
progress-wise; we'll be rehashing arguments, fine tuning
talking points, and otherwise figuring out how we feel
about things, situations, and people. That's not a bad
idea in an election year, but we will be seeing some
ugly, raucous moments.
Tuesday, the 24th and we'll be looking at only
one aspect, the 3:26 p.m. EST, Aquarius Moon quincunx
with Mars (in Virgo). This is a perfect example of Moon
trying to fast-pedal an idea and Mars is telling her,
"It's not gonna happen today, Baby." Considering the
fact that it's State of the Union time, it will be
interesting to see the president's approach to the rest
of his term--and what he sees for the country if
re-elected.
Wednesday, the 25th begins with the 2:59 a.m.
EST, Aquarius Moon trine with Saturn (in Libra). This is
double air energy pushing and idea or rhetoric on law,
policy, borders, or hard lessons learned. At 3:33, Moon
then conjuncts with Neptune (also in Aquarius), which
isn't as pleasing or reassuring because Moon may be
going too far and making things seem more dire or
positive than they are. But Moon is also weakening as it
prepares to shift, and this could be a bluff or last
hurrah. At 4:11, Moon shifts into Pisces bringing an
increased chance for precipitation where Low Pressure
advances, psychic acuteness, compassion, and a tendency
toward dreaming more. On the down side, the less
spiritually evolved need to watch for indulging in
excess of all forms, getting stuck in a pity party of
one, and getting downright mean. When working or
traveling/commuting, take care where you step, and take
time to treat your feet to a pedicure or at least a foot
massage. Our first Pisces Moon aspect occurs at 7:47
a.m. EST, with a sextile with Jupiter (in Taurus).
Pisces and Jupiter get along well and Pisces and Taurus
bring a cooperative water-earth mix. That means the
likelihood of moisture where we most need it, and
probably good results in finances and family harmony. At
10:13, Moon also then conjuncts with Chiron (also in
Pisces). This is a great deal of precipitation, and lots
of empathy. Just take care that this doesn't turn into a
wailing, wake-like atmosphere. We'll close with the 7:30
p.m. EST, Moon sextile with Pluto (in Capricorn), which
is sobering and for some sad as we deal with endings. In
this weather we could be looking at serious accidents,
or those who are chronically ill may be losing the good
fight. Otherwise, some are realizing they've achieved
what they aimed for and it's time to transform/move on.
Thursday, the 26th has only two aspects, the 8:12
a.m. EST, Pisces Moon conjunction with Venus (also in
Pisces) and the 11:53 p.m. EST, Moon opposition to Mars
(in Virgo). Relationships and even romance, as well as
money continue to all be positioned in positive places.
Moisture continues to be plentiful. By evening, however,
Moon discourages any strong arming or radical ideas.
Friday, the 27th is a little busier and starts
with a troubling 4:20 a.m. EST, Mercury (in Capricorn)
square with Saturn (in Libra). This is more upheaval.
Someone has gone against the law or is making a charge
or advancing a program that goes against what is legal
or moral. Watch the 12:18 p.m. EST, Pisces Moon quincunx
with Saturn to attempt to keep things stable or ethical.
But at 1:12, Mercury shifts from Capricorn into Aquarius
bringing more aggressive momentum to get the changes
some want. Not only that--by 1;28, Moon shifts into
Aries and this aggressive and fiery momentum makes
things look like a real tension-filled revolution is on.
Wasting no time, in two minutes, Aries Moon sextiles
Mercury (in Aquarius) asserting control. And by 4:39,
Moon then conjuncts with Uranus (also in Aries). It's a
wild and woolly day and there's no telling what is going
on, but the news channels/programs will be operating at
full throttle.
Saturday, the 28th
will start with the 5:01 a.m. EST, Aries Moon sextile
with Aquarius Sun and that's more change being attempted
and revolution/evolution coming down the pike. At 5:47,
Moon then squares with Pluto (in Capricorn) rejecting
transformation or endings that some want. (A return to
constitutional stability.) Or is this conduct in Syria,
Iran, North Korea, or where? At 1:26 p.m. EST, Mercury
(in Aquarius) keeps the airwaves crackling with a
sextile with Uranus (in Aries) and that's akin to saber
rattling in third-world nations, and a campaign
free-for-all in the U.S. We'll end with the 11:08 p.m.
EST, Mercury square with Jupiter (in Taurus). That's
bad, bad news for some--no mercy, and not much luck.
